Technology for Good

How do you design technology for good?
Breadline is not only a web app that collects surplus food for the poor, it’s also a tool that encourages participation and enables individuals to work together independently. This was particularly important during the pandemic as Breadline was able to continue with operations.

Behind the system architecture and design was a thinking that aims to decentralize operations. Breadline enables volunteers to choose their own runs – ahead of time or last minute and provides real-time updates so they can decide where they want to run. This helps volunteers avoid empty runs and go to where there is most bread left.
